Utility Aid is one of the largest energy brokers operating in the UK, and the only one operating entirely in the not-for-profit, social housing and charity sector. It specialises in energy procurement (including collective purchasing) and cost recovery (through invoice validation). Utility Aid also provides other ancillary services, including, but not limited, to voiding and COT support.
The company employs 60 personnel, operating from six offices across the UK. Typically placing in excess of £65 million per annum in energy contracts a year, Utility Aid manages a total supply of two terawatts across 20,000-meter points and 3,200 clients.
Most of its clients are multi-site organisations. As such, the company and its staff have an innate understanding of their wants and needs, and these have been built into its systems and procedures accordingly.
With this understanding, and in collaboration with its clients, Utility Aid deploys its resources to enable clients to read data, reduce costs, recover loss and reward good performance.
As spokesperson for Utility Aid said: “People choose us to manage their energy requirements because of our openness, unique offerings, expertise, dedication and ability to deliver results.
“Utility Aid aims to help its customers to achieve their net zero ambitions through the provision of a comprehensive advisory and consultancy service.
“There are six steps to ensure organisations reap the benefits and avoid the pit falls of investing in energy efficient and low to zero carbon technologies. Every organisation will require a bespoke approach, and it is our aim to fill the needs of the client, avoiding unnecessary expense wherever possible.
“We must establish how much carbon an organisation is producing to determine what can be done to reduce it. We require 12 months’ energy consumption figures for 1 April 2019 through to March 2020, this could be in monthly or quarterly format to start our process.
“Utility Aid are honoured to support SFHA by encouraging organisations to commit to net zero by 2050. We are here to support our customers by collaborating and reporting on targets for electricity and gas consumption as well as renewable energy generation.”
