Govanhill Housing Association has expressed its delight after becoming the latest members of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA).
The Glasgow-based association, which is marking its 50th anniversary this year, becomes the 132nd association to join the SFHA, which now represents over 94% of all housing associations and co-operatives in Scotland.
Chair of Govanhill Housing Association, Cheryl Miller, said: “Govanhill Housing Association are happy to start our 50th anniversary year as members of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations.
“The aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and ongoing cost of living crisis mean that it is more important than ever to stand with other Housing Associations to provide the best possible service for our tenants.
“We are delighted to join SFHA which complements our involvement in other local bodies such as the Glasgow West of Scotland Forum.”
SFHA Director of Operations and Membership, Louise Moules, added: “We are thrilled that Govanhill Housing Association has joined SFHA and becomes the latest member to strengthen our collective voice in advocating for the best interests of housing associations and tenants.
“We greatly look forward to working alongside Govanhill in the months and years ahead, and I’m sure members everywhere will join us in extending the warmest welcome to them.”
