Monday 22 March, 11:30–12:30
Monday 22 March, 11:30–12:30
On Monday 22 March, SFHA is holding an event, exclusively for SFHA members, which will allow you to learn more about the Scottish Government’s recently released Housing to 2040 strategy. You will hear directly from Cabinet Secretary for Communities Aileen Campbell who led the government’s work on the strategy.
Housing to 2040 is the Scottish Government’s long-awaited strategy for the next 20 years of housing. It is Scotland’s first long-term housing strategy, and it outlines the government’s vision for housing and communities, including:
delivering 100,000 more affordable homes by 2032, with at least 70% for social rent
setting a single set of standards for housing quality and accessibility, no matter whether a home is owned or rented
decarbonising heating in all homes in line with Scotland’s climate ambitions
aiming for all new homes delivered by registered social landlords and local authorities to be zero emissions by 2026
supporting housing development in rural and island areas, helping to prevent depopulation and enabling communities to thrive.
This session, to be chaired by SFHA Chief Executive Sally Thomas, will give you the opportunity to hear more about the government’s priorities and vision for the next 20 years of housing. You will also be able to put your questions to the Cabinet Secretary.
