Scotland Excel has partnered with the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations and the Construction Scotland Innovation Centre (CSIC) to look at the future of social housing with a free webinar created specifically for housing associations.

Speakers at the free webinar include Stacey Dingwall, SFHA Senior Policy Manager, who will discuss what the social housing sector needs after 2021 and the importance of delivering the affordable homes essential for economic and social recovery and renewal after the coronavirus pandemic.

Sarah Buchanan, Business Relationship Manager from the CSIC, will speak about the innovation projects they are supporting to aid recovery of the construction industry, within low carbon and sustainable housing.

The free, interactive event will be hosted by Jenny Bowles, Construction Category Manager at Scotland Excel, who will give an update on Scotland Excel’s £1.5 billion new build framework. She will explore the ways it provides a fully compliant route to market and how it can be easily configured for housing associations to build much needed social housing in Scotland.

Supporting Jenny will be Colin Taylor, Housing Services Manager at Scotland Excel, who has wide knowledge of the social housing landscape.

Scotland Excel’s ‘Supporting Scotland’s Recovery’ campaign aims to collaborate with, and advise, the public and private sector to aid the economic and social recovery of the nation during the Covid-19 pandemic. The informative and interactive session is being held on 2 February from 10:00 to 12:00.

Julie Welsh, Scotland Excel’s Chief Executive, said: “We are delighted to continue our support for housing associations and the construction industry during the pandemic.

“With this latest event, we are joined by two extremely influential organisations in the SFHA and the CSIC.”

Ms Welsh concluded: “The Scottish Government’s £24 billion infrastructure investment plan announced at the end of 2020 includes £2.8 billion for new affordable homes over the next five years, so this webinar is a timely opportunity to hear from the industry experts and collaborate with key partners.

“The goal of the webinar is to stimulate and create conversations that deliver real results for Scottish social housing, and I believe this is the perfect forum for all involved to get together and work towards a recovery where all of society benefits.”

You can sign up for the free webinar via Eventbrite.
