Supply update – lead times and end of year spend requirements

Following recent communications, there continues to be global supply constraints and extended lead times for a number of technology lines, including networking switches and other IT equipment requiring Integrated Circuits (ICs). Framework suppliers have worked hard to support framework public bodies and to minimise the impact of these constraints however, the situation remains unpredictable. It is important that organisations begin to make preparations for their end of year spend activities and keep in contact with their account managers to factor the current situation into their planning and budget decision making process.

To help mitigate supply challenges, it is recommended that you:

  • factor in increased time for the supply of products, especially for critical projects
  • proactive engagement with your account manager
  • explore alternative configurations/solutions
  • leverage storage options and services.

Delivering community benefits through Operation Beach Clean

Scottish Procurement’s recent blog shares a case study from one of our Office Equipment framework suppliers. The Scottish Procurement framework agreements continue to deliver additional benefits for organisations and local communities. Konica Minolta shows how it puts its sustainability and environmental credentials into action by partnering with South Ayrshire Council on ‘Operation Beach Clean’, where employees volunteered to keep Troon beach litter-free.
