The Scottish Government announced an Independent Review of Inspection, Scrutiny and Regulation (IRISR) on 23 September. The IRISR aims to make recommendations to ensure that social care support services are the best that they can be for people who use services and people who work within them. It also aims to ensure that a human rights and person-centred approach is central to the inspection and regulation of social care.
