I recently joined SFHA as Near Me in Housing Lead, in a Scottish Government funded post for 12 months, to support the roll-out of video calling services across the housing sector.
Near Me was a welcome addition at the start of lockdown and continues to have so many benefits for tenants, customers and frontline workers. Near Me Video Appointments offer greater flexibility, enabling tenants and customers to feel empowered.
In my role, I will also be responsible for providing a comprehensive first point of contact to all SFHA members, local authorities, and other stakeholders, from setting up accounts and sharing experiences from peers.
I previously worked at RAMH for nine years, and in Health and Social Care for a lot longer. I’ve worked in a combination of co-ordinating and frontline roles working closely with housing associations.
For me, as a frontline worker, having Near Me at my disposal would offer another method of connecting with people that enhances the service we offered. I’ve been inspired by the experiences of using Near Me from some of the housing associations and co-operatives I have spoken with and heartened by their resourcefulness and resilience.
