The next virtual IT and Digital meeting for SFHA members will be delving into some topics that have been front and centre for housing associations in the past six months.

SFHA IT Operating benchmark pilot

Firstly, we will be hearing a summary of insights and trends from the IT Operating Benchmarking pilot survey that SFHA and Altair carried out with 10 SFHA members, with a presentation of the findings in the exclusive report. The survey was comprehensive, in order to give us a real sense of the priorities and challenges ahead for members.

Some of the key goals of the benchmarking were to:

  • To understand the demands of the geographical area
  • To better inform future decisions
  • To generate data-driven insight for IT decision makers
  • To analyse the issues experienced in the sector
  • To provide technology related advice and guidance based on a broad set of sector and region-specific data
  • To establish any shared trends, shared challenges, and good practices to benefit SFHA members
  • To benchmark against other member organisations
  • To influence questions and approaches ahead of the wider survey launch.

The survey categories that we included and surveyed included:

  • Organisation Data
  • IT Disciplines
  • IT Strategy & Innovation
  • Systems
  • Budgets
  • Value for Money
  • Accreditations
  • Performance
  • Data Quality
  • Project Delivery
  • IT Governance

AI in housing

As artificial intelligence becomes more and more prevalent in our personal lives, the same goes for our professional ones. Generative AI and other forms of it are now being integrated and used within various industry sectors. We will be hearing about some of the applications in the Housing sector and where we might see the most effective use of it for SFHA members as well as the following:

  • Explanation of key types of AI that would be used to help tenants and HA staff i.e. conversational AI / generative AI
  • Some of the example use cases and the potential areas that would prove most suitable currently
  • Any developing trends or challenges in housing that would foster use of AI
  • The risks of AI i.e. no guard rails in place can cause good AI to work badly

And more…

During the network meeting we will also be exploring recent member queries around PCI compliance and hear from other SFHA members about their current challenges.
