Langstane Housing Association has announced that it has adopted the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS).

This standardisation across the sector signifies a leap forward in transparency and comprehensiveness, not only for our own reporting but also in comparison to others. This unified approach benefits both Langstane and its stakeholders who can now readily assess its commitment to sustainable communities.

This important step demonstrates Langstane's ongoing commitment to:

  • Reducing its environmental impact through energy-efficient housing, sustainable construction practices, and responsible waste management.
  • Creating thriving communities by fostering social cohesion, promoting well-being, and investing in local amenities.
  • Ensuring good governance by upholding ethical standards, promoting transparency, and engaging with stakeholders.

Langstane believes that by adopting the Sustainability Reporting Standard, it can hold ourselves accountable for our environmental, social and governance performance. It is confident that this will allow us to make a positive contribution to the communities we serve and the wider environment.

Helen Gauld, Chief Executive of Langstane Housing Association said: "We are excited to take this important step towards a more sustainable future for our residents and communities. The Sustainability Reporting Standard (SRS) will provide a valuable framework for measuring and improving our environmental, social and governance performance.”

Brendan Sarsfield, Chair of Sustainability for Housing, said: “We are pleased to welcome Langstane Housing Association to our growing pool of adopters across Scotland, Wales and England.”

“It is great to see Langstane Housing Association recognising the benefits of the SRS, especially for their residents, and we look forward to helping them with their sustainability efforts.”
