Ayrshire Housing is set to build a £7 million affordable housing development in Troon, Ayrshire.

The housing association has appointed Cruden Building, part of the Cruden Group, to deliver the homes.

The development is due to start on site next month and will see 52 new affordable homes being built in Troon, contributing towards a 600-plus new homes expansion masterplan for the northeast of the town which includes both private and affordable housing.

The 52 energy-efficient new homes will comprise of new two and three-bedroomed semi-detached houses and two bedroomed cottage flats for social rental. The new development will also include parking and a fully landscaped village green with outdoor play facilities.

Jim Whiston, Director of Ayrshire Housing, said: “The support of the Scottish Government and South Ayrshire Council has made possible this much-needed new development.

"ARPL Architects have designed the homes with long-term flexibility in mind and which set new standards for us in terms of energy efficiency. They have been assisted by engineers McColm Design and quantity surveyors M B Langmuir and Hay. We are also grateful for the support of house builder Lynch Homes who provided the serviced development site.”
