The Scottish Government has today launched the second part of its consultation on the forthcoming New Build Heat Standard.

Following an initial scoping consultation in 2020/21, the Scottish Government is now formally seeking views on proposed regulations which will prohibit the use of direct emissions heating systems in new buildings from 1 April 2024.

The consultation provides further detail on the proposals for regulating heating systems in new buildings, and the Scottish Government is seeking stakeholder feedback on a number of key issues relating to these proposals.

Additional information can be found in the consultation paper, and details of future consultation workshops will also be made available here in due course.

SFHA will be responding to the consultation which has a deadline of 20 October. Any members who wish to feed into this process should contact SFHA Research and Policy Lead Cassandra Dove cdove@sfha.co.uk.
