New deadline for Transitional Private Sector Rent Controls Consultation

Following a request from SFHA, Scottish Government has confirmed that the deadline for its consultation on planned transitional rent controls for the private sector has been extended by a week, to 16:00 on Monday 15 January 2024.

The consultation proposes to temporarily modify the rent adjudication process, as part of the transition away from the current emergency rent controls which will expire in March.

The proposals do not apply to the social sector, but may affect members who provide Mid Market Rent. SFHA will be responding to the consultation: please contact communications@sfha.co.uk if you would like to contribute.
