Ahead of further energy bill increases this autumn, a new round of the Scottish Government’s Fuel Insecurity Fund, formerly the Social Housing Fuel Poverty Support Fund, has been announced. New funding of £2 million will be available for social landlords to support tenants identified as in, or at risk of, fuel poverty.

Launched in 2020/2021, the Fuel Insecurity Fund is funded by the Scottish Government and administered by the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA). The fund aims to provide practical support to social landlords’ tenants to help them to heat their homes and to manage, or reduce, their energy costs.

The third round of the Fuel Insecurity Fund will open on 29 August via the SFHA website.

Learn more at SFHA's webinar:

Ahead of the fund opening, on 23 August from 10:00 to 11:00, SFHA is holding a free webinar for social landlords to learn more about the fund, including the assessment criteria. Housing associations and co-operatives are strongly encouraged to attend the webinar as assessment criteria for the funding has changed since the previous round.
