Phase 3 of a further round of a £7.25 million fuel poverty fund, which will help social landlords to support tenants who are struggling with fuel costs, will close at 17:00 today (5 October).
The fourth round will run until March 2024 and will support activities such as expanding the capacity of energy advice services, provision of energy efficiency measures, provision of small appliances, essential items, fuel crisis intervention and debt relief.
The Social Housing Fuel Support Fund is funded by the Scottish Government and managed and administered by the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA). It aims to provide practical support to social landlords’ tenants to mitigate fuel poverty, and to help them to manage, or reduce, their fuel costs.
Phase 3 will fund fuel crisis intervention measures and fuel debt relief for social housing tenants.
Funding criteria
Applicants are encouraged to offer interventions using a cash-first approach, unless it would undermine the benefit to the individual (for instance where a direct bank transfer would be swallowed up by fees, where it isn't the preferred method of the recipient, or if there is a concern about risk to staff).

The fund will open to applications on Thursday 21 September, and close at 17:00 on 5 October 2023.

Applications are welcome from Registered Social Landlords across Scotland.
Applications are welcome from single organisations or collaboratives
Applications will be assessed by a panel comprising of SFHA staff and an external industry expert
Dependent on the uptake of funding applications may be assessed on how well they meet the aims and priorities of the criteria, and:
Identified and evidenced need, and targeted delivery
Demonstrable and measurable impact
Applications should be completed and returned to funding@sfha.co.uk
