The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has launched a survey on the Energy Bills Relief Scheme to better understand the energy needs of organisations across the UK.
The Energy Bills Relief Scheme was launched on 1 October 2022 to provide support with energy costs to eligible organisations until at least through to 31 March 2023. In parallel, the UK Government has also launched a three month review which will identify businesses and organisations most at risk from higher energy costs that will still require support after 31 March and consider the most appropriate means of providing this support.
As part of the scheme, the government has committed to finding out more about the needs of specific sectors to plan for longer-term support beyond the six months. This includes a survey which SFHA members are encouraged to respond to ahead of the deadline of 23:55hrs on Sunday 30 October.
The survey includes questions on a range of topics, including information about your organisation, energy costs and usage, other costs and your expectations for the months ahead. Contributing to this official survey will ensure the UK Government considers the social housing sector's needs as part of the review.
For further support in completing the survey, the Charity Finance Group has produced a handy checklist which outlines the key information required and provides further guidance on answering specific questions.
