Provision of equipment and adaptations round table
Posted Wednesday 28th July by Admin User
The roundtable will be held on 4 August at 10:00.
SFHA would like to invite you to a round table discussion on the Health and Care Directorate’s guidance on the provision of equipment and adaptations and your views on what you think needs to change.
The Home First Team within the Scottish Governments Health and Care Directorate has launched a review of its current guidance Independent living: Equipment and adaptations - gov.scot (www.gov.scot). This guidance was published in 2009, so it predates integrated joint boards and the subsequent delegation of responsibility for equipment and adaptations funding to the integration authorities. Other pieces of legislation and guidance for the housing element are out of date and, in places, now inaccurate, for example, the section on adaptations for RSL tenants.
This review will be relevant to the Scottish Government’s commitment to review aids and adaptations funding as set out in Housing to 2040 and the recommendation in the Independent Review of Adult Social Care that the system needs to be simplified, and it’s important that we capture your views.
The roundtable will be held on 4 August at 10:00. Please contact SFHA Policy Lead Eileen McMullan, emcmullan@sfha.co.uk if you would like to take part.
