Following a busy season of board elections, SFHA will launch a new induction training programme this November, designed exclusively for its members and their newly appointed governing body members.

Linda Ewart, who has a wealth of knowledge and experience in governance – including authoring much of SFHA’s governance guidance – will deliver the training on behalf of SFHA. The training will comprise three virtual, interactive sessions over Microsoft Teams. The course will also include a template for a fourth session to be delivered by the governing body member’s organisation, outlining elements that are specific to it.

The sessions will explore the role of the governing body member, an introduction to the social housing sector, looking internally at governance within your own organisation, and seeking assurance.
