SFHA will meet Private Rented Sector Policy Officers from the Better Homes Division of Scottish Government in Edinburgh on Monday (June 10th ) to discuss some of the rented sector reform measures in the Housing Bill.

The meeting will cover measures in the following sections of the Bill.

  • Rent Control
  • Evictions
  • Keeping Pets
  • Making Changes to a Let Property
  • Other matter relating to tenants which include unclaimed tenancy deposits, joint tenancies and converting older tenancies

We will be using members input to inform our discussions. As a reminder, you can view SFHA’s evidence submission on the Housing Bill and a summary of results from the recent Mid-Market Rent Survey on rent control measures on our website.  The Bill is currently in Stage 1 and the Scottish Parliament’s Local Government, Housing and Planning Committee (and Social Justice and Social Security Committee) continues to take evidence from stakeholders.
