SFHA recently announced its partnership with Skills Development Scotland (SDS) to support employment opportunities into the housing sector. The partnership allows members to access direct specialist support on employer opportunities, such as Modern Apprenticeship and graduate schemes, and also highlights opportunities and employment options for individuals to access.

The partnership has secured funding for the housing sector to utilise SDS's Skills for Growth service. Employers benefit from having their own dedicated adviser from SDS and a specialist consultant who helps you to make the best use of your management skills, assess your staff's skills and work with training providers to fill the gaps.

Joyce Orr, Director at Pineview Housing Association, said: "Pineview Housing Association is working on the Skills for Growth project with Skills Development Scotland. This is a great project that will help ensure we best equip Pineview and our team for the future. The project will help Pineview to continually develop but, just as importantly, will also allow all our team to develop their skills and experience to allow then to progress their careers, either within Pineview or by equipping them to pursue opportunities outwith Pineview, but, hopefully, within the sector.

"We have had great support and guidance throughout the project from Neil Cunningham of SDS and from Brian Glennie of The Leadership Factory, and we look forward to developing further with both of them.”

A masterclass for SFHA members recently explored the Skills for Growth service. You can watch this below:
