The Rural and Islands Housing Association Forum (RIHAF) is hosting a conference on ‘Supporting Sustainable Communities’ next month.

This conference is a must-attend for RSL staff and partners, rural and urban alike.  

Join us in Stirling on 1-2 November for topical debates and practice sharing on how to support sustainable communities now and for our future. The wide range of conference events will focus on interconnectivity between housing, health, social care, and community wellbeing. 

Session topics include skills and employment, accessibility and adaptations, community-led housing partnerships, planning for ageing, technology in housing and care, and much more!

Speakers and delegates will discuss what action is needed across sectors will deliver places that meets tenants’ needs and aspirations and provide economic opportunity, with a focus on affordable housing options to retain and attract diverse populations.  

Angie Wood, Interim Director for Social Care Resilience and Improvement for the Social Care and NCS Development Directorate, will join as one of the keynote speakers to discuss how health can work in partnership with RSLs to meet health and care challenges facing Scotland’s population and support people to live independently at home.

Anyone with an interest in supporting communities or a focus on adaptations, ageing populations, supported living, and skills and employability will benefit from the conference.
