The UK Government has announced that eligible heat networks will receive additional support as part of the new Energy Bills Discount Scheme which will commence on 1st April.
In addition to the baseline level of support offered to all non-domestic customers, heat network schemes will also be able to apply for a higher level of support if:
they meet the definition of a heat network as defined in the EBDS Regulations
are supplied gas or electricity by a licensed supplier for the purposes of generating heat
serve one or more domestic end consumers
This scheme aims to bring retail energy prices paid by heat networks down to a specific heat network Minimum Supply Price which will be set at £340 per MWh for electricity and £78.3 per MWh for gas.
Further details can be found on the UK Government website and information on how to register will also be available on this page from the first week of April.
