With only a few weeks left to go until this year’s Scottish Housing Day, which is taking place on Wednesday 14 September 2022, SFHA has created a round-up of upcoming events and opportunities for members to get involved.
The theme for this year is sustainable housing, and social landlords are encouraged to showcase how they ensure the homes they provide are increasingly sustainable and how they are supporting tenants throughout the cost of living crisis. This is about more than low or zero-carbon heating systems to address the climate emergency but also about how our homes can be increasingly:
- affordable
- adaptable
- the right size for each household
- built using modern methods of construction
- improved for tenant and customer health and wellbeing
In the run up to the day, SFHA will be hosting a webinar in partnership with Sustainability for Housing (SfH) which will bring together registered social landlords from Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to talk about the way they are managing, and reporting on, sustainability issues. Join us on Friday 9 September (from 10.30 to 11.30) to learn more about the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing and the experiences of landlords from across the UK.

September also sees the launch of the second round of SFHA's Climate Emergency Training, delivered in partnership with Keep Scotland Beautiful.
