Advice Direct Scotland has been awarded the contract to deliver the independent advocacy service to individuals who, due to disability, need the support of an advocate to engage effectively with the social security system in Scotland.

This service will be delivered from the 31 January 2026.

Advice Direct Scotland know that:

  • You understand your communities.
  • You know the barriers people face.
  • You hold deep expertise in disability, mental health, trauma, communication support, and inclusive practice.

Advice Direct Scotland want this service to reflect that real experience and not just the specification in a contract.

This means:

  • Building simple, clear referral pathways
  • Making the service accessible in every sense
  • Ensuring advocates understand the diverse needs of the people they support
  • Creating opportunities to learn together and improve together

Advice Direct Scotland want to create a genuine, long-term partnership and not a one-off engagement exercise with you and your service users.

It would welcome the opportunity to discuss how we can make a success of the service, any current issues you are aware of and any obstacles to effective engagement.

It is hosting a breakfast meeting at its offices at 53 Bothwell Street, Glasgow on 4 December at 8.30am.

For those unable to attend, it will be holding an online session at 11am on the same day.
