Cunninghame Housing Association is celebrating the first grant awards from its relaunched Making Our Communities Better Places Fund, with over £15,000 awarded to 18 local groups and projects making a real difference in their communities.
This year’s recipients cover a wide range of initiatives, including sport, youth activities, wellbeing, music, safety, and volunteering.
The groups receiving funding are:

- Kilwinning Football Academy 2008
- 4th Irvine Boys’ Brigade
- Heathhall Community Centre
- The Argyle Community Shop
- 34th Ayrshire 1st Mauchline Scout Group
- Tass Thistle 2012s
- The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety
- Ardeer Thistle Girls U10s & U12s
- Inspire, Motivate, Celebrate
- Garnock Valley Helping Hands
- Kate’s Kitchen
- Largs Music Club
- Lockerbie Ice Rink
- Kilwinning Rangers Girls U12s
- Eglinton Park Path Stewards
- Ardeer Thistle 2011
- Kilwinning Rangers 2014 Blues
In addition to these awards, a separate donation was made to Arran Mountain Rescue Team to support the purchase of a new rescue stretcher.
The awards ceremony was opened by CHA’s Chief Executive Officer, Jacqueline Cameron, where cheques were presented before attendees enjoyed lunch and the opportunity to network. Jacqueline commented:
“At Cunninghame Housing Association, we are passionate about supporting communities and are committed to being more than just a landlord. I am delighted to hear first-hand how this fund will help local groups to thrive.”
One of the recipient groups added: “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen to receive this funding. It will make a huge difference to what we can do locally!”
The Making Our Communities Better Places Fund supports local groups and projects that bring people together and help communities flourish. Updates on next year’s applications will be shared via CHA’s social media channels.
