The Scottish Government has this week published its draft Energy Strategy and Just Transition Plan which sets out a vision for Scotland's energy system to 2045. This includes a route map of ambitions and actions that, coupled with detailed sectoral plans and the forthcoming Climate Change Plan, will guide decision-making and policy support over the course of this decade.

A consultation on the draft document will be open until 4 April 2023 and will seek views on the Scottish Government’s vision and actions to transition to an affordable, resilient and clean energy system including understanding how to secure the maximum social and economic benefits from the energy transition.

On heat in buildings, the consultation includes a specific question on what further government action is needed to drive energy efficiency and zero emissions heat deployment across Scotland.

Further details on the consultation can be found here and SFHA members are invited to input by contacting Cassandra Dove, SFHA Research and Policy Lead (cdove@sfha.co.uk).
