Fully funded Professional Development Award in TEC – closing 24 November

Limited funding is availavle for people who are new to, or have, an interest in technology enabled care or those who want to develop, and advance, their knowledge, skills, and abilities in this field of practice.

NHS Education for Scotland (NES) has announced that it is funding a cohort of 30 candidates to undertake the Professional Development Award Technology Enabled Care at SCQF Level 7 starting in January 2023. 

The award is aimed at those:

  • Interested in increasing their use of technology
  • Keen to explore how technology can benefit the people they support
  • Would like to build their knowledge, skills and practice in Technology Enabled Care

Delivered online by the University of the Highlands and Islands, Perth College this is open to individuals working in social work, social care, health or housing organisations (including those working in care at home or care homes, across the public, private and third sector).  The qualification is designed to empower individuals to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies that support health and care delivery while reflecting on how these could be used to assist people to self-manage and live independently.

The award is delivered online for one 17-week semester with a mandatory two-hour online group inductions week commencing 16 January 2023.  Funding is available to candidates who agree to complete the units - Working with Technology Enabled Care and Using Digital Technology to Support People in Health, Housing and Care (we are not offering funding for any other units currently).

Applications will close at 17:00 on Thursday 24 November 2022.
