Governance Guidance Review Update: SFHA meets with Block 2 Working Group To Discuss Survey Results

SFHA issued a survey to all members at the end of 2020, asking for views on the Model Code of Conduct for Governing Body Members, the Model Code of Conduct for Staff and the Model Entitlements Payments and Benefits Policy.

On 12 February, a working group of members met with SFHA and Linda Ewart to discuss the results of the survey and agree next steps for the review of the model policies.

SFHA shared a summary of the survey results (available in the downloads section to the right of this article).

It was agreed that SFHA would keep the governing body members and staff codes separate, and make only minor changes to the Codes and the model EPB policy. SFHA will also produce an accompanying guidance document to sit alongside the policies, which will contain a revised protocol for dealing with a breach of the Code of Conduct for Governing Body Members.

SFHA will be sharing revised drafts for consideration of the working group at the end of February and is aiming to publish revised documents by the end of March - with the accompanying guidance to follow in April.
