Its Vice Chair, Calum Mackay, welcomed all in attendance and thanked everyone, including staff, partners, contractors and tenants for their contribution over the last year.
The Membership present approved the following resolutions:
• To appoint CT: Audit as our External Auditor until our next General Meeting; and
• To donate £5,000 of the surplus at 31 March 2025 to 5 local charities, which are:
▪ Tagsa Uibhist
▪ CRY (Andrew Macleod Memorial Fund)
▪ Crossroads Lewis & Harris
▪ Western Isles Association for Mental Health
▪ Volunteer Centre Western Isles
Following the close of official business Jim Keenan gave an excellent talk (Leading from the Front – Lessons from the Mountains) on his time serving as Colour Sergeant with the UK Commando Force and his achievements in Mountaineering, including summiting Manaslu, the world’s 8th highest peak.
At the Board meeting following the AGM, Calum Mackay was elected as HHP Chair, following the resignation of former Chair, Gordon Macleod. Helen Mackenzie was elected to the position of Vice Chair, and Christina Macneil was appointed as Tenant Board Member. Calum Mackay thanked Gordon Macleod for his time and dedication to the role of Chair and expressed his well wishes in his future career.
The Chair also thanked Gary Lamont, outgoing Tenant Board Member for his contributions over the past year.
