Webinar Thursday 22 April, 10:30–12:00

SFHA believes everyone living in Scotland deserves a safe, warm, energy efficient and affordable home in a thriving community. Fair Way Scotland is a new method to provide a gateway to a safe destination, support and advice for people with no recourse to public funds (NRPF). A cross-sector collaboration between the public, academic and third sectors, it aims to raise the safety net and design-out destitution among people with NRPF in Scotland and action three of the Scottish Government/COSLA Ending Destitution Together Strategy.

Some housing associations and co-operatives have already mobilised against NRPF conditions, protected human rights and provided a safe place to stay. On Thursday 22 April, SFHA and Homeless Network Scotland will explore how we build from this to centre the pivotal role of housing associations in this ambition and ensure that everyone has a safe place to stay.

Members attending the session will:

  • learn more about the issue of no recourse to public funds, who it affects and why
  • be consulted on a five-year delivery plan to design-out destitution and ensure everyone has a safe place to stay
  • shape the role of housing association ambassadors for Fair Way Scotland.
