Last week SFHA Director of External Affairs, Carolyn Lochhead, featured on the Scottish Housing News (SHN) podcast to discuss the Housing at Scotland’s Heart campaign.
Talking to Kieran Findlay and Jimmy Black of SHN, the discussion focused on the value of social homes and SFHA’s asks of the Scottish Government to support the sector ahead of next month’s Programme for Government.
On Scottish Government’s new plan on acquisitions, Carolyn outlined that while the scheme was welcome the £60 million funding should not have come from the existing Affordable Housing Supply Programme. She also called for existing funds that support tenants with food and fuel bills to be extended, as well as the need for the sector to reach net zero in a fair and just way.
