The Scottish Rural and Islands Housing Conference will return to Dundee this year on 8 and 9 October.
The Scottish Rural & Islands Housing Conference returns to Dundee this October – and it’s set to be one of our most vital gatherings yet.
Our plenary sessions lead the way:
We’ll dig into how investing in quality, energy-efficient homes can improve health, cut costs across public services, and change lives for the better – and crucially, how it should be funded.
We’ll explore the future of local partnerships, joint ownership, and how housing organisations can harness community energy as a new revenue stream.
Why should you attend?
Across two days in Dundee, you’ll hear bold ideas, join practical workshops, and connect with sector leaders tackling the most pressing rural housing challenges.
Add in the inaugural Robin Currie Retrofit of the Year Award, evening networking, and a chance to recharge with colleagues, this is the event you don’t want to miss.
Could your project be crowned Retrofit of the Year? This new award celebrates the best rural housing upgrades, making homes warmer, greener, and better to live in.
Entering is simple: just send us a short PowerPoint (max three slides) covering your project overview, before/after photos, who was involved, and the benefits for tenants and communities.
The award honours the late Councillor Robin Currie, a lifelong champion of rural housing. All entries will be displayed at the conference, with delegates voting for the winner.
Retrofits must be completed between March 2024 – March 2025
Send entries to kdevin@sfha.co.uk or mstephen@sfha.co.uk.
