SFHA has launched a new tool assessing how well housing associations have adopted Artificial Intelligence.

Delivered in partnership with Altair, the AI Readiness Assessment tool is the first of its kind in the housing sector and will provide SFHA members insights into how their organisations can use AI to improve productivity and tenant experience.

The insights will provide a readiness score breaking down how well your organisation is prepared to make full use of Generative AI by assessing how it is being used to deliver services.

It will also provide actions your housing association can take to further integrate AI into your operations to save time and money, and ensure your organisation is prepared for any associated risks.

SFHA’s new tool comes amid considerable growth in AI technologies in workplaces across the country. The use of Generative AI in the public sector alone has grown from just 22% in 2023 to over 60% in 2024.

The tool is the first of its kind in Scotland’s social housing sector and involves users answering 16 multiple choice questions on their use of AI which will provide their score and results via PDF.

SFHA Digital and Data Manager Gary Dickson said: “We know our members are now ready to embrace faster paced digital change and transformation, ultimately powered by AI and the incredible innovations it offers. We created this tool to help housing associations understand where they are and the possibilities of where their digital journeys can lead.”

Lauren Trevelyan, Principal Consultant at Altair said: “Proposing the right approach for your organisation is complex and multi-layered, so there is strength in understanding your organisation positions against a number of key areas, including data quality and completeness, application and business architecture, risk appetite and digital transformation approach and footprint.”

The AI readiness tool is exclusive to SFHA members, who can access their insights here.
