Riverside Scotland’s Managing Director, Diana MacLean, is set to step down from the organisation after four years in role.
Before joining Riverside in 2021, Ms MacLean had worked as Director of Customer Experience at Bield Housing Association, with over 20 years’ experience in the sector.
Ms MacLean will continue to lead her teams until August, when she steps away from the organisation for a career break aimed at focusing on her health.
Over the last four years Ms MacLean has led the 2,500-home provider through building 170 new homes in the last three years and its £2 million investment in improving quality, energy efficiency and safety of existing properties.
The recruitment process for Ms MacLean’s successor is underway, with the advertisement for the new Managing Director of Riverside Scotland now live.
With the strength of being part of one of the UK’s leading housing associations, the role will lead the 2,500 home provider across North Ayrshire, East Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway.
Diana MacLean said: “It is very much with sadness that I have made the difficult decision to leave Riverside Scotland. I have enjoyed every minute of my time here and I’m going to miss it dearly.
“From expanding our Housing First for Families service and it receiving outstanding results from the Care Inspectorate, to winning Housing Association of the Year at the 2024 Scotland Energy Efficiency Awards, and now our recent 87% customer satisfaction rate… I am confident that I am leaving a much stronger organisation than the one I joined thanks to the excellence of our teams.”
Ms MacLean began her housing career as an accommodation officer at Napier, completing an MSC in Housing at Heriot Watt before moving to Scottish Borders housing association as housing manager. She went onto hold senior positions at a number of organisations, including Radian Group Ltd, Weslo Housing Management, New Forest District Council and Home Group.
Jim Strang, Riverside Scotland Chair, added: “The Board of Riverside Scotland will always be indebted to Diana for her superb leadership since she joined us. She has transformed our staff team into a dedicated, cohesive group who places our customers at the core of all that we do.
“She has guided a truly talented Board with professionalism and dedication, instilling in us the core values of customer care.
“As we say thank you for all that she has achieved with Riverside Scotland, the huge contribution she has made to The Riverside Group and to the wider Scottish social housing sector, we will seek to build on her achievements going forward.
“Diana leaves a wonderful legacy - one she should be justly proud of and one we fully intend to expand. We wish her every happiness for the future, and we will truly miss her.”
Riverside Scotland became part of The Riverside Group in 2011.
